The picturesque environment offers complete hospitality and quality: room equiped with bath, grand library once frequented by the benedettini olivetani monks, multimedia room, antique choir, and vast garden.
The reception will be open from Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. to assist with the organizational, administrative, and logistic needs of the students.
The luminous and spacious halls of Villa Morghen remain at the disposition of the students for both group and individual activities regarding study and test preparation.
The grand library, with its original furnishings restored, recaptures the antique solemnity symbolic of a civilization which reached its maximum splendour in the monastic libraries of the high-medieval period.
The space allows for lectures and sittings of classical music.
The common area of the first floor has been simply restored: the chestnut beams of the ceilings and terracotta tile floors create a welcoming ambience characteristic of traditional Tuscan homes. A large part of the common space is designated for lectures, assemblies, and educational workshops.
Frescoes by noted artists of the 1600's are present in the antique refectory of the monastery. Today the villa can host up to 60 guests in the refectory and antique chambers once used by the monks.
The simple elegance of the interior decor harmonizes with the building's structure to create a peaceful ambience ideal for study.
Student lodging is found in the same building in which students attend their language, culture, and theology lessons. The following services are provided:
  • accommodation in single or double rooms with a view of Florence from the hills of Fiesole
  • daily maid service with weekly change of sheets
  • breakfast 7 days a week
  • dinner guaranteed during the 5 days a week in which lessons are held
  • canteen (offering the possibility of a quick lunch)
  • lecture halls and library
  • outdoor courtyard for relaxing during breaks
Beside the church we find an antique wooden choir from the 1600s which, separate from the rest of the structure, is ideal for hosting concerts and various shows.
The entire monastery complex offers an original synthesis of antiquity and modernity in both tradition and function. It seems as though the very building alludes and contributes to the cultural and educational purposes of this center for Italian language and culture.
The area surrounding the complex was designed in part for parking and in part as a park for welcoming students. The vast park offers numerous possibilities for outdoor activities such as long walks along the path and picnics in the recreational area.
